Traditionally Rice is a staple food of 2/3rd of the World's populace. Rice is known to human being since long, hence Rice is accepted as natural as Water and Air. But Rice is not consumed the way nature presents it. It is been processed for human consumption. Therefore processing is having its importance while defining Quality of Rice.Because we are not exposed to Hi-Tech Processing, we are used to Low Quality Rice. Further the greed of man has diluted the quality by added impurities like broken, stones, soil, inferior quality, admixture, rawgrains to Rice.The new generation consumers because, of their non-agriculture background are not aware of the exact quality of best Rice and hence accept Rice, as it is available in the market innocently. Superior technology in food processing substantially enhances the food standard. Though developed in a lot of technological applications India lags behind western world in food processing. For example important product like rice available on shelves in western countries like United States, England and Japan are far superior in standard than available in india.
